For a very modest fee, I would take full car of the car over the winter months for you. I'd even wash it for you..after I get home..

I've used a Specialised cover on my Golf for two and a half years now. Where the stitching touches the car on high points it makes a light rub mark which easily polishes out. Once those high spots have been dealt with using extra material it doesn't mark at all, but you have to be fastidiously clean, so it's not suitable for those with low OCD levels. And it can be a pain getting home and having to do a full outside valet before replacing the cover. But better than getting acid etching from bird shite, which seems to affect red quite badly.

For my 4/4 sport I've used and would highly recommend a breathable four layer Noah car cover. It is tailored to fit the specific car, other Morgan derivatives are available in the Noah range.

I use it on a black car which is prone to scratches, however the cover being tailored, does not seem to rub on the bodywork and as such has left no marks!

The cover cost £240 in 2012 when I bought my Morgan, I had the same issue of not having garage space over the winter.

Thank you Steve I'll contact them. I do use the car on a regular basis throughout the year. So guess drive it wash it dry it cover it. Still looking into the perma bag as well.

Fantastic! I found that it took less than five minutes to take the cover off and put back on. Once rolled up, the cover fits quite nicely in the passenger footwell or behind the seats…..

If you have room I would go for one of the garage tents in preference to a cover. At least you can drive under it with a wet car and air will circulate. A cover will eventually scratch and as you say the car has to be fully dried before using it. The other advantage of the tent type is you can work in it. They are around similar money to a cover.

I've used an outdoor Carcoon for my Plus 4 over the past 15 months and am very happy with the protection it provides. It sits under a shadecloth to give some extra UV protection in the Aus sun. It initially seems a hastle to get it in and out, but once you work out a routine, it takes only about 5 minutes. You can put the car away wet, plus I can leave the top down and the Carcoon gives protection from spiders and other crawlies.

Even be tempted to continue to use it if, one day, however unlikely, I eventually find space in the garage; mainly for the dehumidify and absolutely dust free advantages.
