Where do I start with this. Traditional Mogs are high at the front. This allows a lot of air to channel underneath, and also covers the front suspension with road grime. The rack in particular is quite vulnerable. Overrider cars are more exposed than full bumper cars because the full bumper - mounts just below the front wing line, the number plate often below that, and together therefore, visually lowers the stance. As you know, various solutions are out there. The full width 'ground hugging' competition spoiler is unattractive and not particularly suitable for the road. The first 4 seater Roadster in Miscellany sported a very nice lower cowl assembly with a reverse curve under the front, but not a spoiler. My guess is that this will be pricey from the factory!! I asked a question on Mogtalk as to where I might source a lower cowl, but I'm told that they are often made to order from aluminium. I'm guessing some may also be fibreglass. So at that stage I was no further forward. There's also the question of whether Trads should sport a front spoiler at all. I suspect that many owners will recoil at such a suggestion!!!!! Having said all that, I was intrigued to try something out to balance the front of my Roadster. I wanted something which would fit between the overriders, and channel some air to the base of the radiator. I didn't want a 'tarmac scraper', but something which fitted just below the overrider level. I didn't want a full width appendage because the front wings don't look 'comfortable' with a downward extension. So - that was my design brief. Anyway, I wouldn't normally post until it was a 'done deal' but in this case I'm 90% there with it. I applied the top coats of paint yesterday, and am presently awaiting delivery of some Neoprene edging from COH Baines Ltd (Purveyors of Neoprene edging). Tonight I intend to rehash two of the mounting brackets, because the Mark1's are not quite good enough. As always, no drilling is required. It will attach to the existing bolts at the base of the cowl (adjacent to the horns - which are UNF threads by the way!). And towards the edge I will use penny washers either side of the overrider brackets. Once I've got it properly fitted, then all will be revealed. Sorry to be such a tease on this occasion. I would be interested to hear any views on the issue of front spoilers.

Thanks Brian for the Simmonds link. I hadn't seen that before but it's similar in shape to the 4 seater cowl, so not what I'm after!
Thanks also John for the Hearts of England link. This box is also available on the MMC site but not in stainless as far as I remember. Functional yes, but I want a result that's more elegant with a bit of functionalism. What I have in mind is not dissimilar to the splitter on the Aero 8 under the air intake, but on the Trad it can't be so blended in!!
I've made some mark 2 brackets tonight, so more progress. If I can't get if fitted by Saturday, my time is taken until mid-next-week. Experience tells me not to rush this.

Well, I managed to snatch another hour in the garage tonight, drilled and finished the two brackets, sorted the fasteners, and did another trial fit. I decided to blow another top coat over as there were a couple of blemishes, not that you'd notice when it's mounted so low. The neoprene edging arrived yesterday so I'm ready to go with it. But unfortunately am fully booked tomorrow night...... My horoscope today warned me not to rush stuff.....

Reminds of a road trip in US a few years back when we came across a bill board forspannerstyle Junior asks why its call spannerstyle as scantily clad lady looks down from the billboard. My reply was a simple one, "well I can feel my nuts tightening so that might explain it."
