In the same vein; the Mk 1 Supermarine Southampton Flying Boat had a wooded hull/fuselage. (Picture attached) The Mk 2 went to Duralumin for the hull. Check out the craftsmanship!

Ray as you've spotted, the Waco is a thing of beauty both in the original and in the modern version. Never had the chance to fly one but I have seen the originals flown in airshows in the US and also the new Wacos in their role as modern day barnstormers. In the Morgan analogy the only thing missing is that continuous family company history. Anyone who has a Morgan will relate to the Waco.
Without a doubt! Having flown both an original (UPF-7) and the newer 2013 (YMF-5) I can whole heartedly agree. They absolutely capture the spirit of the original with fantastic creature comforts and efficiency (glass cockpit, uprated engines, etc).
Sad that I can offer an opinion on this but not a Mog, having never actually driven one!
