For some reason, any photographs I am uploading these days appear on the site as links as opposed to the image themselves. Could anyone re-remind me what I should do/might be doing wrong? Thanks G

I'm not sure about the photo section, as I've never used it, but certainly on the other branches of the forum, the picture needs to be hosted.

So with a hosted picture, one uses the 'enter an image' button and give the address of the picture. Either use your own webspace (I did) or use something like photobucket.

With squiggly brackets so you can see what it does:

And with the square brackets in place, you get this.

Madresfield in 2009, my three-wheeler gets a push from helpers (one you might recognise) as has no reverse gear.

I have noticed that if I take a photo and upload it via the laptop, it appears in the post as a picture. However if I take a photo with my phone and upload it via the phone, it appears in the post as a link. No idea why that should be.

The image is too large to appear in a post. Here I reduced it to 800 x 600 pixels. I use a free program Fotosizer but you could do it with any image editing software.

This is the image that was 3264 x 2448 pixels resized to 800 x 600 pixels

The nice thing is that once it is uploaded using File Manager you can right click on the image, click on "View image" in the pop up menu then copy the url to use in another post.

Here it is with curly brackets:

And here it is if the correct square brackets are used by the "Enter an image" button when you are making a post:
