A Very Special 1968 Porsche 911 ST Outlaw Coupe
Saw this today at the Celebration of the Motorcar. It was the only one allowed to show off the engine (as it was all about form of the cars not the engines). You can see why.
There is some details/history in one of the photos but it's currently owned by local boy (who's come good!) Daniel Ricciardo.

Apart from the colour, clearly a man of taste! Don.

Apart from the colour, clearly a man of taste! Don. What's wrong with the colour (Forest Green?). Ferry Porsche himself always had his personal cars in dark green. My first Porsche was Aventura green and is the best-looking (imho) car I ever owned. Shame you can't keep them all...

A few years ago somebody was daily driving a Forest Green 912 in Sheffield. It was often parked near to my coffee haunt. It was superb and totally understated with rubber mats and Beetle standard interior, and unrestored condition. That must have rocketed in value in the last five years and now I don't see it.
The only other car which has impressed me that much was an oily rag MG TC which was utterly scruffy but in daily use.

That is absolutely gorgeous. Recent Porche 911s don't float my boat but this does. I think it is because it is similar in concept to a narrow body 4/4. Lightweight & fun.

Stunning car and I like the colour, somehow greens of all shades seem to suit early Porsches, Irish green is one of my favourite Porsche colours.

I simply don't like green cars although I would make an exception for Viper Green! I will also confess to having owned an Aventura Green 993 C2 at the end of the last century. Don.

Back in '68 I really lusted after a green 911 that was driven by an insurance rep that called on the company where I worked. If I had had the money I would have bought one. Now the Porsche really doesn't interest me and a green car is almost the last colour that I would choose.
Amazing how ones taste changes.
When I discovered what sort of commissions the insurance rep was getting on the life assurance policies I came to understand how he could afford a Porsche and vowed never to sign up for such a policy.
