Hello all, Having trouble identifying which is the correct master/slave cylinder to replace on my +8. Model is 1997 (hotwire). The slave is the longer version fitted with the bell housing cut open. I've read that a Rover SD1 slave is a direct fit, but read elsewhere that there are minor but important differences.... hmmm.... Appreciate the support. Thx. Kevin

Hi Kevin I had a look for you and if you look at the bottom of this page yours should be the one on the right of the bottom picture Slave on right On Hearts of England +8 clutch slaves they show 2 however the earlier one which is longer they say can be fitted to a R380 box (which) I think you will have. I believe it requires some filing to get it to fit, but being the longer body cylinder gives a better pedal. On Ebay found this one which looks the same Slave cylinder but to be certain I would call Europarts, they are pretty helpful. On Melvyn Rutter parts no late +8 clutch slave cylinders listed. Hope this helps.

Just had a thought if you search in google for Land Rover R380 clutch slave cylinder you will see various pics for them under RimmerBros This is a genuine slave cylinder but there are cheaper OEM ones. You should be pretty safe with the above I think

Instead of replacing them can you get a new seal set? If the bores etc are good and it is the seals that have failed then the service kit may be an option? I have gone down this route in the past on tintops ..
