I went from 3 to 7 wheels and would not recommend to do it the other way around.

No, no , dont do it. Hire a M3W by all means but dont sink money into one.

i went from 3 to 4 and the trad Morgan has more depth to its appeal, not perhaps as exciting on first glance but a much better product in the longer term imo.

i still have much affection for the 3W but am relieved i no longer have the worries of actually owing one, i think hiring when the urge is strong is the best route.

swapping your 4 wheeler i think will lead to some regrets in the future.

Several TMers have got additional 4wheelers after starting with a M3W. There is a reason for that!

I say go for it, it's fun, its challenging and you become hugely popular wherever you drive, its totally different from any other car driving experience and most of the problems have now been sorted.
From my point of view I would never buy a Morgan 4 wheeler, there are far better sports cars on the market which handle better and are far quicker for the same money or even cheaper

As I have only ever had my car roof up twice in two years I have no problem.i have formerly had a three wheeler JZR
As a motorcyclist it fits with me.
Just one problem
Where to put the dog 😰

It was a factory visit and test drive that's caused this dilemma again !

I think as a one time motorcyclist it is hard to resist the appeal of the M3W....I think the M3W is closer to a motorcycle than a car....and I love the simplicity of the design.

Totally impractical but counter-balanced, or even exceeded, by the fun to drive factor.

That said, I think I would be concerned by the reliability record of the M3W...maybe I have misjudged it but it does appear that a lot of owners have had significant problems with their cars (and that the owners of the first edition appear to have been used as 'Beta Testers' by the factory). They also seem a bit overpriced for what you get.

Either way you look at it owning one is quite mad....and from a driving perspective that is good.....from the reliability side of life a bit less so (and that may be down to luck or lack of etc).

Life's too short anyway....and you live in a fabulous part of the country with just the right sort of road for an M3W.

stevemag, as you had a test drive you have lost the game already.
Just one recommendation: go for the stage one kit (sports exhaust and air filter).
It does make a significant difference and even more fun!

You are right about the bike connection..thats what always drew me towards the 3 wheeler and the Morgan.

I sold three bikes to fund the M3W!

And glad I did!

Although I became a three into four Morgan owner!!

BTW I too had a JZR - a great car IMO!

Sold that to buy another bike!!!
