When I press the button for heating I get only one speed. I think there should be two. It does not light in the press button when it is off, it does so in the other buttons. When I press the button and the fan starts then it lit.
Does anyone have an idea what might be wrong and what I should check?
Although my B1800's ('69 4/4)heater output is inadequate to cope with temperatures through at least half the year in my region of Canada, it's fan control switch is of the variable speed type. Sorry about the blurry photo.....

Mine was the same as your Bert, but took it out as it was next to useless, it wont be going back in. Thermals and cold weather gear will be enough for me.

My 2011 4/4 has an excellent heater and some 4-5 different fan speeds. Can only recommend to install the "new technology" (hope it fits earlier cars too)
