What is thee purpose of the shackle pins on the stg 1 air filter? Seems like an expensive 'solution'.

The shackle pins merely hold the front fascia in place. That is there to cover the four bolts necessary to remove the filter. It also looks cool.

A Morgan 3 Wheeler must maintain its cool.

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
