How many does MSCC retain after the first year (I seem to recall in year one you get free membership?)....

MSCC free membership is supposed to be offered by dealers to every new car customer. The Club is looking at ways to extend that to dealer sold used cars, as most first time owners buy used.

So, many of the new owners are existing members and they are retained. Of the new new owners we keep a goodly number of members, but sadly quite a few new new owners move the car on after a couple of years. Either because Mog ownership is so different or, probably, because infirmity means they can't get in the thing!

The message has to be "Buy Early, Buy Many"

talking to Mark L the sales this year will be closer to 800, Europe and China are down. The UK has been the best, EVER!!
The surprise star for the UK has been the Plus 8. He blames me.

So overall sales revenue is good as the product mix has kept unit revenue high even though numbers are a bit lower than at the peak. He also said that at about 800 cars product quality is optimised and there is less warranty work.

I was told at the factory when watching the build of my 2014 4/4
that the "poverty model" as some call it is only approx break even in terms of revenue !!!

Any thoughts?

What a disgusting term that will kill any sales . Some years ago MSCC had a starter mog vinyl seats and stripped down to sell at a low price , it did not last long and this one has less. But branded with that name by idiots some people never learn .

Well I would be very surprised if any Morgans out of the Factory "break even".

And if they do then the Accountants need to get it right one way or another. They should and must make a good margin on all cars.Otherwise there is no point in all that skill and added value manufacturing.

BTW I too really dislike the "poverty model" moniker.

And the 4/4 is a really great car - pure Morgan I would say!!

That’s probably what has driven the decision for the new environmental protection process for the chassis. Only a matter of time now before the ash frame is replaced with PU injection mouldings

I can't even remember how I found TM but I know that it is now an integral part of the Morgan ownership package.
There are so many good people on here with years of experience who willingly help others out with problem solving big and small plus the car free areas are full of very amusing items.
If someone is introduced to TM and then doesn't use it they are really missing out.
By the way, a TM sticker quite visible on entrant No 31 at TOTH on the calendar in July.
