What was involved in removing the original inserts?
Do you have a link for your replacements?
Cheers Not a lot involved; they tended to come out of the wood still attached to the screws when removing the tray so just grab them with a pair of pliers then fit the brass replacement. I got the inserts from The Bay of E and also got a 8.5mm drill bit with a hex shank so that I could clean up the hole to the right size by hand. The inserts just screw into the hole using an Allen key. Haven't had to do anything to any of the replacements since fitting them.

My early M3W didn't have inserts, just cheap screws straight into the ash frame.
