Hi. Purchased my 1994 4/4 in May this year. It was fitted with brand new chrome wires and tyres. The car is off the road for winter and I thought I'd remove the wheels to carry out some basic checks and maintenance. The wheel nuts seem over tight and do not want to loosen despite hefty blows on the spanner with the lump hammer provided. I was considering getting a local engineering company to provide me with a long steel tube formed at one end to take the spanner which may give me the required leverage.
Any ideas/advice very welcome.

You can buy them on line e.g. from the MG owners club.
They do get tight & need a good tap.

I buy a lead hammer from a tool supplier. It does the job.

I've heard good reports about dead blow hammers but I've yet to buy one.
At present I have a large Thor for emergencies.
At home, when struggling I apply a bit of heat to the centre nut - not much but this has never failed. At the side of the road it would be different!

Do not tightsen them to much, they usually tightsen themselves when drivning. I just use a rubber club to loden them.

Guys, thanks for the advice, suggestions etc.
Steve, I've tried the reference number you gave me for flea bay but the site doesn't seem to recognise it.
I find the Morgan wheel nut spanner design far from ideal. It needs a slight crank on the handle to provide more clearance from the wheel rim.
Anyhow I've just jacked the car up off the garage floor for winter and I'll get back to resolving this issue in the spring.
