Just got news from the dealership that my M3W is done and will be delivered on Monday! I do not have the final bill yet, but I was sent these pictures of it with the Sport baffle-less exhaust and the Stage 1 intake. According to the dealership the heat shields are not meant to be fitted with the sport exhaust; not sure how I feel about this. Has anyone else had any experience with this? As I think I would like to keep them.   Full list of work done:
- Replace rusty head bolt, right cylinder, far right front bolt.
- Fix where the hand brake leather boot cover is coming unglued from center counsel.
- Fix fuel leak from hose that runs between injectors under the black heat guard.
- Safelight said they should be able to repair the pitting in right hand windscreen caused by fuel leak.
- Check brake pad conditions, they squeak loudly on occasion when coming to a stop.
- Fix stripped bolt in the rear boot, the right side bolt holding the small mud guard in place.
- Replace burnt out headlight (light switch one click down), head lamps also need alignment adjusted.
- Fix right tail light, does not illuminate when headlamps are on; brake lights work fine.
- The rear sprocket is getting noisy, especially when coasting and not in gear, may be alignment issue.
- Install Morgan spacer kit on cam belt housing cover to aid in cooling and stop disintegration of the belt.
- Install crankshaft pulley mod (SP130202) that stops it from busting out through the housing cover.
- Check condition of the oil tank cap gasket and update with version that won’t fall in the tank if needed.
- Addition of seat belt sender cover in the boot that is now standard on new M3Ws to keep belts clean.
- Upgrade horn with provided Stebel dual tone air horn, please save and return old single tone horn.
- Install new chassis support bracket, located behind the engine; warranty item per Mark Evans.
- Check over for any squeaks, rattles or other identifiable shaken-loose bolts or hardware.
- Replace exhaust bobbins, please save and return old bobbins as I can put them in my tool kit as spares.
- Install Morgan Sport -no muffler- Exhaust, please save and return original exhaust.
- Install Morgan Stage 1 Air Cleaner, please save and return original air cleaner.
- Install Morgan Comfort Steering kit.

Charlie, I have the same exhausts and was a bit concerned at the lack of heat shields (or mounting points for them) but it hasn't been a problem; apart from last couple of inches at each end of the silencers, the outer skin stays at a reasonably sensible temperature. On the other hand, going by the discolouration of the silencer at its ends it probably would take your skin off very easily.
One thing I would look out for is that the forward end of the silencer can is fastened with small Allen screws - a couple of them on one of my pipes were determined to work loose the first couple of times out, but have settled down since.

Thanks for the reassurance!
I asked and the guys at the dealership are looking into the feasibility of making a bracket or something to retain the original heat shields. Will keep everyone updated!

I was supposed to be at that very dealership this morning! Until the cat got the car i supposed to test drive... It was my M3W they were going to take you out in and when they asked, I told them it was OK as long as they took full responsibility to repair or replace any damage that may occur while they were using it, and they didn't want that responsibility.

One thing I would look out for is that the forward end of the silencer can is fastened with small Allen screws - a couple of them on one of my pipes were determined to work loose the first couple of times out, but have settled down since.
I have the same exhausts and get the same screw loosening issue. As they are trying to take themselves apart , I thought I would do it to investigate whats going on and investigate the fact the baffles are very hot at each end but not in the middle. The screws fit into blind holes in a substantial end piece to the baffle - no risk of loosing nuts inside etc and could be loctited up if preferred. Inside the baffle is a long double ended db killer with a serious amount of thick dense wadding in the outer space. This is a one inch diameter tube with lots of serrations for the sound to leak into the wadding which surrounds it. The wadding fills the space between the central tube and the outer baffle tube. The extra heat at the end is simply the baffle ends in direct contact with the baffle outer tube. The cooler center is where the wadding is. I am experimenting with running without the original baffle and wadding ( way too loud ) and now with a single db killer at the end ( Much better ) . If I get fed up with it I can revert back to original as it all comes apart via those screws

Who the hell won't take responsibility for damage done while they're driving a car? That's nuts. AND they were using your car for business...to make money...geeshhhhhh!

This works out perfectly...go take Draggin and his wife for the ride now. December in Michigan is not really an ideal time for jaunt in the Mog, 42 degrees and rainy/cloudy here, plus I am almost 2 hours away from the dealership. But I would be happy to give them a ride whenever they want if they happen to be in or near Lansing!
