I gave up on anything involving my wife with navigation long ago, divorce is expensive. Technology is much cheaper and more accurate, it never agues either.

I had mentioned portable speakers in my first post and still think it might be a decent idea since I dont want to use in-ears.

UE (ultimate ears) makes some nice portables. waterproof to a certain point, long lasting batteries, accetable sound quality (enough for navi-voice!)

I think that you will find them impossible to hear at any speed. If I remember correctly, Q8Morgan installed a Beats by Dre speaker that was much larger than the product that you linked, and it was too quiet even.

As a publisher of paper maps and living in a house that has been hit on a weekly basis by idiots using 'Prat Navs' to try and get to a major town via a donkey track (that Tom Tom didn't check was passable) you can imagine I wouldn't dream of spoiling my car with such a device.

I can see IN THE RIGHT HANDS they have a use but somehow even If I didn't have a personal issue with Tom Tom concerning problems where I live such a device doesn't seem right in a traditional car like a Morgan 3 or 4 wheeler.
