I have seen at least one M3W with the gear lever forward have a sloping rear part to the transmission tunnel, but did that sloping rear become standard or is it an optional/custom job?
Although not looking as simple as the "rectangular" tunnel, I imagine it makes for a more comfortable drive with the forward-placed gear lever?
this is my car. It is a modified tunnel from the German Morgan shop in Hamburg, Morgan Park Morgan-Park , it gives more room for the legs and there is a small through-shaped placement area before the gear lever, I installed there my TomTom
They also made this "secret" glove box:
4 aircooled cylinders, 7 tires, not waterproof: my m3w Bluebelle (2013) and my 2CV Gundel (1990)
Saw this recently but, for the life, cannot remember where on this site. I believe it's a custom job from one of the Morgan dealers in Germany. Pictures I saw had a wooden box fitted to the actual contours of the transmission. Then the padding and leather are added. As you can see in these pix that it is not a rectangular shaped in cross section but a trapezoid, thereby giving you more leg room.
The stock Morgan housing is a very simple shape to create which makes it much faster to build.
"Waldemar" beat me to it!

What's your mileage? Who cares. Is it practical? See #1. What happens when it rains? You get wet.
Oh, thanks, so it's also made slimmer at the top portion! I hadn't realised that, but that now that you mention it, I can see it.
Thanks both of you. And Waldemar, I think what you have done is in the spirit of understated luxury of sorts. Small details that makes it easier to live with on a daily basis.
I have that narrow tunnel as well. The slope is standard. I got mine through a US dealer that ordered it from Morgan Park Germany for me. I'm 6'4" and it really helped with knee room. The best part is that the sharp corner of the stock cover no longer cuts into my thigh.
