I think an important factor that Mr Culling has overlooked is file size. There are rules for this (ie, very, very small). I followed the advice, but it still didn't work. There are more important things to do...

I know its frustrating trying to get this stuff to work but you have no idea how reassuring it is to realise I am not the only one ;-)
Why not upload the picture to the TalkMorgan photo library, that will give you a link.
URL = uniform resource locator. This is the pointer to a thing on the internet, be it a site, a page, a document, or a picture. All URLs start with the characters "http". Secure sites start "https"
GIF = Graphic Interchange format. All pictures have to be converted to 1s and 0s to be held on computers, there are various ways of doing this, GIF specifies one way to do it, JPEG is another, PNG a third and so on. When a picture has been converted to a digital file, the filename is given an extension to indicate the means by which it has been converted. The File extension is added to the name by placing a . at the end of the name followed by 3 or 4 characters which indicate the conversion type - so "timbo.gif", "timbo.jpeg" and so on.
Some applications can only work with some file types, which could be why TalkMorgan complained at your picture - it might have been expecting a GIF and you were using a JPEG, or it was bigger than 100 x 100 pixels.

Remember to make sure your picture is the right size. From your photo library, you'll need to do a 'Save As' and specify the size of the image to be saved.

It does not give me an option of Save As where I can specify the photo size. I have even used MS Office Picture Manager and reduced it to 8.75KB the smallest it will go and its a jpeg but still gives the error message incorrect picture type, its been uploaded onto Photo Bucket and tried to cut and paste the URL from there and still it will not work, can I send it to you to play with and maybe you could do whatever's required and work your magic?
I will leave it as it is, only going to put up a daft photo of me pressing in some bushes anyway so nothing interesting ;-).
There are many ways of storing a file so that it can be used. If the proportions of the image are correct you can probably get a thumbnail from the image library that is 100x100px and use that. It is also possible to attach a small picture to a post and use that.
Attached to this post is a file that is cut back to the correct dimensions.
