I'm a big fan of proper Irish soda bread too! We love bread very much but have had to make an effort to cut back on to help with losing weight. I've used a Panasonic breadmaker for a number of years with great results which I realise is a bit like buying a Mini compared to a Morgan. Olive bread comes out very nice in it amongst others. eat

I built one with my son in law last year - perfectly arched dome - very pleased - first couple of pizzas were fab then the darned thing started to explode because we`d used house bricks & they are porous & the water expandedwith a large bang. So if you do build use non porous brick.
He since bought a metal one - very good pizzas but no fireworks.

sospan jnr -Ieuan -and his pal jez, have a mobile pizza business based in Cardiff.
They have a wood fired oven on the back of a 3 wheeled tuck tuck van. They do Neapolitan pizzas using flour from Naples and locally produced award winning produce.
They run it part time at present doing weddings, parties, festivals etc.
The oven gets to 500deg C!
Awesome pizzas......and no bias either. They have high ratings, rave reviews, and been on radio Wales, films etc.
Ieuan cooked a pizza for the radio presenter live in the studio in a frying pan and finished in the hottest oven setting in the kitchen.
Their name is Ffwrnes Artisan Pizza if you want a search........
Ieuan and Jez have been asked to help judging in a Welsh Junior Masterchef round in a couple of weeks.
Right....blatant advertising over!
They key to good Pizza is good ingredients and a HOT oven. Care needed in the wood used too so as not to taint the food.
I will try to sort out a link and photos PeterJ

I built myself a wood fired oven last summer, and without doubt the pizzas taste wonderful, and so they should at around £50 each so far. However once I cook my 1000th pizza it will only be £1 plus ingredients. No regrets at all, so get building

Surprise surprise. It is a thing that is fairly readily available in Italy. This is just one example of many.
