The name of Alan Mann was mentioned recently regarding the racing Escorts, the link below is an interesting update of the current Alan Mann team. Enjoy. https://grrc.goodwood.com/race/historic/...IYvzkPcvQKkH.97

Thanks for the link.
My SIL and I were chatting to the race engineers on the Falcon the evening before the St Marys race and a great couple of guys they are.

Thanks very much for posting this - a fascinating article!
I have fond memories of Frank Gardner racing a Boss 302 Mustang in AMR colours in my last season of race crewing. Seeing it enter Bottom Bend at Brands with jets of flame pouring out of the exhaust on the overrun was unforgettable....not to mention the noise. Hooked me on V8s for life!

I had the pleasure of being on a GRRC track day with the team about seven years ago, prior to Alan's passing.
They were testing their Mustang and I was down at Goodwood with my modern S196 Shelby (no longer owned by me). As is the way with GRRC track days, everyone talks to everyone but because we both had Ford Mustangs (albeit separated by four decades), I spent a good amount of time chatting with the Mann team (I think I even have a photo of the two Mustangs together somewhere). They were a really decent bunch and I enjoyed reading the article.
Thanks Dave.

Thanks Dave. Not sure if it was the same day, but I took a great photo of Alan Mann in his fully liveried red and gold ..... mobility scooter and with a great big smile to go with it
Cheers
