I have never understood this. My satnav takes the full code, but I've been in cars that don't. It's infuriating .

Other than those gripes I have to say that this new BMW 520 M Sport Auto Touring I got last September is the best car I've driven in terms of eating up motorway miles

I can say the same for my BMW 530d Auto Touring, but I never had troubles with the electronic handbrake or start button. I love everything, the head up display, surround view, adaptive cruise control, etc, etc. Maybe the only thing that irritates sometimes are the auto wipers, which have problems with drizzle. When I drive in the UK (on the wrong side hide), the headlights adapt automatically to RHD traffic, speed limits are recalculated form mph to kmh, the car knows it's driving in the UK. Blasting the german autobahn 200 kmh +, no problem. Fuel consumption: moderate!
So I think the cars evolved to a very high level at this time. I now will make a new step to electric driving, buying a Tesla Model S. I know I'll miss the BMW, but luckily....., there's always the Morgan, with all its imperfections and loads of charm!!

Older cars are the problem...my 2008 CLC will only accept the first part, e.g SP5 3, rather than SP5 3AZ. This is because the original "Command" works off a DVD and there simply isn't enough data storage to take the full post code directory.

Our 2011 E Coupe takes the full postcode, the updates are loaded to a hard drive memory.

Of course the TomTom in the Mog is always up to date...!!

I am just replacing the regular car with something new.

The new one will have most of the modern frills as standard but I am not paying for the electronic nags. Lane, proximity and other nanny features. If I need to use one of those to save me then I need a slower car and possibly a chauffeur. I have had assisted emergency braking on my last five cars (where it maximises the braking if it senses imminent impact ahead) and have only ever had it kick in once.

I am ordering the black windows as given the choice of colour and style of the vehicle it completes the style. Sorry. The previous estate also had the dark windows as I sometimes carry goods, it helps. Fashion victim moment but in all honesty is the Morgan not an alternative version of the same desire to be viewed in a specific manner from outside ?

No
HUD (but was nearest of the list to get a yes)
Lane control
Proximity/auto breaking
Adaptive cruise control (useless in South UK as people go into the gap)
Auto parking
Surround parking camera
Any "carbon" trim packs

Yes
BHP upgrade (you can never have enough - sorry)
21" rims (again the look of the car and style)
Black out rear windows
Music upgrade (unlike the Aero you can hear it)
Amazing LED dynamic lights

#rant mode on
Alarm/Seatbelt/Door Bong noises
HEAVY steering if you use the dynamic map?
Stop start on a twin turbo V8 ? Really why. Other than cheating on the legislative MPG rules of course.

8 weeks until I scare myself again.

Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

My 2015 Captur would only take half the code..

I had the 5.0sc Range Rover Sport for 2 weeks last winter - and after 2 tanks of driving around - clearing snow, drifting on snow, motorway cruising, town work etc it returned pretty much 20mpg. I don't care how silly the EU legislation is, if a 500ps SUV can do that then I'm all for it. smile

Indicator telling me to change gear and which gear to select. Also if it is a good thing why isn't it on a heads up display? Who keeps looking down at the dials to see what info the car is trying to tell you?
Other than speed or revs, that is......
I would like heads up displays to show speed and any ESSENTIAL ir safety warnings though but only the minimum.

What needs putting on all these modern cars is a button to switch off silly bleeps and unnecessary commands !
