Was that Noggin, as in Noggin the Nog; or Noggin, as in Nogbad the Bad, or Thor Nogson?

We do enjoy a "300" mile run. It leaves you feeling invigorated. Our trips to the west Country last year, and our Scottish tour the previous year were epic road trips.

But as Peter says - not many centres do things like that.

Contacting Bud about his activities on TM is ludicrous and was clearly not thought through. It's a shame that individuals can't act for the common good, but too often it becomes a serious power struggle. It was a feature of the MGCC when I was involved at Committee level in the V8 Register. At times it was very unpleasant.

Well to be honest whilst I'm still a member of the MSCC it's a VERY reluctant one.
I'll never forget the appalling way in which the hierarchy orchestrated an attack on Quentin at last years AGM.
Maybe the profit his LMC efforts raised are now being sorely missed.
My view is that the MSCC has lost sight of the aim of being a car club run for the benefit of it's members to an organization that is far more interested in just creating profit.
I wish Peter every success in getting it back on track.

This is bizarre in the extreme. How on earth is MSCC supposed to attract new members if non-members are not permitted to attend (or even know about) MSCC events?

I understand that the distancing of LMC and the MSCC was on the advice of the accountants due to record-keeping that left the MSCC and its directors with a potential huge fiscal and legal liability.

If this was the case, however 'nice' an individual is, ignoring the advice of a certified professional would leave the directors and the MSCC as a legal entity with a huge corporate and personal liability.

It was probably the directors niavity and what they inherited over time that allowed the situation to get to that level.

As a director, one's behaviour is governed by law and law alone.

The audit trail was advised as being not compatible with the requirements of ABTOT. ABTOT would therefore not provide future indemnity. Tour Operators are controlled by legislation and liable for losses incurred which is why indemnity is essential.

Would anyone on TM, (in a capacity of MSCC Director) take that personal risk if that situation was not addressed. I certainly wouldn't.

Given that advice in today's world I wouldn't sign my name to it as a director.

A classic case of myopia .

There are those who enjoy being members of a club of whatever form that takes. In its own way TM is a club with regular posters who all know each other, so if you like are the regulars on the bar stools.

TM is successful because it fulfils the needs of occasional and regular visitors without the clutter of the governance of a formal club.

There are many many Morgan owners who are neither MSCC members nor visitors to TM.

TM depends on the goodwill of Simon and his moderators, MSCC depends on the goodwill of those who are prepared to give their time to make it function as it does today warts and all.

If MSCC wants to change then that change has to be driven by established active members and be influenced by new joiners or those who are still members but feel disenfranchised for whatever reason.

The starting point has to be capturing what the established active members want from the club and what vision they have for the future. The vehicle to do this exists in the form of the centres using a common format to capture.

That then has to be communicated out to the wider membership for comment.

The wants of today and the vision can then be modified.

MSCC can then be relaunched using centres and dealers.

A roadshow by the top table to the centres on open nights, by open I mean to all Morgan owners whether members of the club or not to communicate the results of the exercise.

I was a member with my first Morgan that was sold in 1986 but have not re-joined since acquiring my current car. In part that is because I do not live near a centre but in part because although owning and driving my Morgan is but one part of my enjoying not working.

I do however wish the MSCC club a successful future
