Dairy, dairy me...I've been down in the garage and missed all the fun.

As for the coolant, if you manage to dry out the cooling system absolutely 100% before filling with it and never ever have a leak at an inconvenient time (like when you don't have a bottle of it to hand when you need it) then no doubt it works and will allow higher temperatures without boiling and over-pressuring the filler cap than water with a dash of antifreeze. If you can't be absolutely sure of these things then it's a pain.
As for racing use, I'm a bit surprised that it is allowed for racing; when I raced (bikes, not cars admittedly) straight water was the only coolant allowed as it wasn't as disastrously slippery and difficult to clean off of the track when it did leak. End of the meeting just pop one of the bottom hoses off to drain it down to avoid corrosion, refill at next meeting.
All told I'd stick with clean water with a good dose of high quality antifreeze with corrosion inhibitors and just make sure that the rest of the cooling system is working the way it should; good hoses, no scale, radiator in good internal and external condition, thermostat working etc.

Well not having seen this until its all over, I took the time to try and understand what occurred, and either KenA has had a bad day or he fits this definition "The traditional definition of trolling includes intent. That is, trolls purposely disrupt forums."

I certainly hope it was the first. I thought us Aussies were supposed to be blunt, but that beats us hands down. swear

Mr Ken Anderson, welcome to the forum. I certainly hope as a Morgan Driver you don't have that attitude when you are in your car, as it would be disappointing to all the people including lots of children who will wave to you and ask you lots of questions about your wooden chassis and if you restored it yourself.

This forum provides many people with an opportunity to engage on a personal level as well as a technical one, keep the crass comments and holier than though attitude on the muscle car and Subaru forums.

I am not sure if you have them in the UK, but this is the equivalent of a electronic "Mens Shed" and while we do not always agree with each other, we do respect the opportunity for people to have their say.

We do not "hide" behind aliases, but they add a sense of familiarity to the discussion. if you wish to know someones details go and look at their profiles.

The other thing you may wish to know, is those people who have their names listed in purple, have contributed money to Simon to allow him to manage the forum without using all his own funds (Feel free to contribute.

As a forum member over 12,000miles away from the home of Morgan, I have received much valued information in helping me keep my vehicle on the road and I have had many laughs at times when there is not much else to laugh at. I have met a couple of the members in my travels and was always made to feel part of the family. oldgit

Well said Graeme.

Morning All! I'm on a second pot of coffee this morning. Got a bit of a hangover from the lock-in last night. It was a busy night in the bar last night. cowboy
