Well I too support the MSCC. Have made great friends through the club, was the competition secretary and later Chairman of NorceMog, raced my car in the Morgan Challenge race series for nine years, had a fantastic time at MOG2016 at Llangollen and still enjoy the company of its mrmbers, some for over thirty years.
Inevitably, the MSCC needs to change but I suspect that if it accommodated the majority of views expressed in this thread, it would lose a lot of its existing support.
Clubs cannot satisfy everyone and one can look to the MG world for evidence of that; the MG Car Club, MG Owners Club and MG Enthusiasts Club exist because people want different things from clubs.
As said before, consider what you might contribute to the MSCC and Morgan owners local to you. A scenic run through North Wales, the Berkshire Downs, the North Yorkshire Moors, arrange a run to Duxford, Cosford or Yeovilton. Arrange a run including a trip on the Severn Valley, North Yorkshire Moors or Bluebell Railway. Or even write an article for Miscellany!
Please, anything but winge and bitch from the sidelines and accuse people unknown to you of incompetence and self interest.

I was thinking about Miscellany and loosely comparing it to Mog Mag.
If the latter used similar Design, layout and type face it too could look very dated.
Whilst I appreciate the work that goes into producing Miscellany a Design make over could be a quick fix in terms of visual appeal.
Maybe MSCC could brief a Design Agency to create some alternative "looks" for the Board to consider?? Of course I realise very well that a new design for Miscellany and a new web site are not in themselves game changers. BUT they could represent the start of change - stepping stones forward into the future. How the club presents itself I do believe is important ( as well as content). Its what corporates would call a quick win. That is, relatively easy to tackle - but with impact. Whilst bigger issues take longer to achieve. BTW I do so hope that I have not come across as criticising MSCC - my volition is to help, support and suggest positive ideas for the future.

Sorry Neil but I'm not convinced.
Change the design of Miscellany but without new content, it's merely the same stuff in a new wrapper. I haven't heard anyone here offering to contribute content.
Websites are great for static and semi-static content. Social media and blogs have taken the 'live' part of websites away.bThis explains the success of TalkMorgan.
This may come across as blasphemous but I would like to see TM sponsored and not owned by the MSCC but unfettered by it and without any obligation to join the MSCC. I see no threat to TM, nor the MSCC and can see benefit to both.

David - I think we are agreed.
The content has to change/be improved too - please excuse my poor explanation of what I am banging on about!!
I too am not in favour of sticking plaster solutions.
BTW I would be happy to throw my six peneth into the ring if it would help - by way of supporting change.

Happy to agree Neil!
I've goes experiences, knowledge and stories to tell and by the look of your collection, so have you. If I write an article for Miscellany, would you consider doing likewise?

Guys, Guys, come on now, chill out. This is TM not the MSCC. Am I missing something or shouldn't this all be sorted out on the MSCC forum?

Yes, but have you ever tried using their forum? Unless they've updated it of course, I must pop over and have a look.
Clubs do go up and down and that doesn't diminish from the hard work being put in by a few members, which is still appreciated, but sometimes change is needed, because it is easy to get complacent, it happens in businesses too, look at Woolworths as a classic example. They didn't appear to change for decades did they and what ever happened to them?
Debate is healthy and some good ideas and people come out of it. My local centre, Fossilmog in Lyme Bay, has been fantastic, organising stacks of events, and not just eating and drinking either, with great people, some of whom are on here, [so I have to be complimentary] and very active, so I am happy at a local level, but like others, find Miscellany a very brief read, briefer still when DaveW retires.
A few more technical articles would be nice, some genuine and honest road tests of various models, reviews of worthwhile accessories and after market add-ons, like the new Suplex rear axle for example - we've heard more on here about it, than through the club. The factory articles are very interesting, and I like to read what my other local centres are up to, but not replying to contributors though, is no way to encourage others to submit work.

Yes, but have you ever tried using their forum? Unless they've updated it of course, I must pop over and have a look. It isn't a "Forum" in the modern sense of the word. It is an internet "Bulletin Board".....fashionable in the 1990s and really good if you only have a dial up modem.

Not as easy as that, situations change and so do people I used to travel 140 mile ( 70 each way ) to a noggin . Just to enjoy the banter along with the fun and laughter from the enthusiasts . One by one they started to fall away and it needs a joker in every pack , at Mog 2014 Harrogate I bumped into a good few they still have there mogs and all are of the same opinion. The enthusiasm and fun has gone and I cannot see it returning as you need youth for that . Some of the noggins have become just a lunch for the elderly . Starved of MOG TALK in the true sense. As I have said elsewhere in various other threads and here, it is very easy to stand on the sideline of the pitch and criticise the players or the board running it. What is is mutch nicer in my view is to get involved and support your club and hope it goes up in the rankings and be proud of it. Why not all join hands together as fellow Morganeers and support our club the MSCC and accept that we all are individuals and like slightly different things, and for a variety of reasons, be it age, models of cars or how we like to use them or what ever, surely it does not really matter the one thing I hope that we all agree on passionately is we love Morgans.
