Hi
I am sure there must be a thread on this.
Has anyone done this mod themselves. Can it be done without removing the belt and can yu now buy just the bolt instead of a whole kit. Cheers

I don't think so.

Please check out my thread from taking the engine/trans apart

"Pulling out the motor/trans - replace clutch slave"
on page 5 going back a few months

I am confident a new pulley is supplied with the bolt in this kit.
I suspect both are required to make the fix work , but not 100% sure.

Our dealer told me that during the Centa change he had fixed the bolt with Loctite.
I'm not sure, but am I correct that one day I read on the Forum that Loctite is a no go for this ??

You are correct Laurens. The S&S manual says not to apply any Loctite to the bolt, only oil on the threads, then torque it to 35ft-lbs. The problem is this procedure will not fully prevent the bolt making an unplanned exit through the front cover, hence the modification. Loctite may prevent the bolt coming lose but may also prevent it from being removed easily when you want it to as well, Torx drives are not the best.

Step 7: Install Centa compensator with the stator cover by slipping the stator cover over the coils as it slides onto the crankshaft.

We torqued the nut down at 100 ft lbs.

Your compensator replacement write up is excellent information JVS but I think the, "crankshaft pulley bolt mod" refers to the bolt on the other end of the crankshaft, the camshaft drive pulley. Good to hear your M3W is going well after all the work you have done, very satisfying.
