My first time visiting the show, I know it’s been discussed here previously, any tips or must do’s? I’m guessing most of the big name stands you either can’t get on or have to que for!?

The Morgan stand will obviously be a draw for me, first time of seeing the new Aero in the flesh, will I get on any quicker if I flash my keys or Talk Morgan Id? grin2

Cheers...

Take your TM lanyard if you have one Matt. And take some pics of the 4/4 80th Anniversary.

I visited the show last year, thoroughly brilliant day out. Did it as a day trip from Gatwick the show is right at Geneva airport. Got very busy in the afternoon so go early if you can. Most of the stands were accessible and welcoming Morgan had the unveiling of the Aero of course rather disappointing to say one of the less welcoming stands overall. Maybe they were just a little stressed but we did get to sit in all the Morgan types they had. Comfortable shoes required.

Based on a few visits:
1) Get there early
2) Go on a week day
3) Ideally arrive by train - and head straight into Hall 6
4) Alpina and Morgan sit opposite each other (I guess that is only applicable for me)
5) Heading towards Hall 5 from Morgan is a nightmare for most of the day. Historically you have Volvo on the Morgan side of the divide and Aston Martin the other side - you then have Jaguar to the left and Bentley, Maserati and Ferrari to the right - the human traffic is stupid - especially from 11am.
6) I've never had to buy food or drink there (I normally bubbly+Lunch at Alpina)
7) You can get your hands all over the cheap nasty stuff - but less so the good stuff

It certainly has an atmosphere - but having done a weekend day last year and almost killed 84 people - I'll stick with a weekday in future.

I am musing going down, possibly getting the Supersport serviced in Geneva on the day - but I need to confirm holiday plans first

Dodgyken's suggestions are spot on.
All I would add is that we used to stay just over the border in France - far less expensive.

WOT......kill 84 people? wink

I'd love to do the show.....sadly missed a chance of going there this year as I'm in Oz. Bad planning!

Beware of pickpockets! So avoid to much crowded spots. I ended up in a police station last year, had to block credit and debit cards, lost my driver's licence, etc. Spoiled the lot and much effort to get everything back. So take as little with you as necessary.
Glad the plane was already paid for......

Yes we have done the same, still in Geneva but over the border and a tram ride to the centre then to the Hall, no probs. Also agree with comment about pickpockets, which I guess applies to any big crowd or public event these days. We were not victims but there were plenty of warnings all over the place.
Have fun and post pics please! camera

Great advice guys, thanks. Yes we are going on a week day, arriving mid morning, night in Geneva, flying out the following eve!

Looking forward to it! thumbs
