Finally the Suplex 5L did land on this planet - respectively my garage.
Here are the first shots of the kit whilst in the process of being fitted to my car happy3

At last! I hope that once it's in you don't find a washer lying on the floor! laugh2

The one thing that concerns me about the new suspension is the split cross brace. I know that it is necessary to enable the fitting but when you compare it to the substantial cross brace that you have just taken off, I do wonder about chassis rigidity.

I'm looking forward to more photos.....AND......the road test!

...don´t you worry dear John - there are nuts, bolts and also washers aplenty everywhere (still)! winky

Regarding the split crossbrace: having had both the standard and the Suplex item in my hands i can calm everybody´s concerns down... the new unit is VERY rigid plus the joint is fabricated in just ONE fitting way.

All of the system is like a big Meccano-kit (eventhough with a little more fettling to some of it..)

Keeping you posted!

Hi Jochen,
your leaf springs which are going out look like the torque resistant type or am I wrong?
I don't want to hijack your thread, so could you tell or PM your experiences with this type of leaf spring as I ordered the antitramp torque resistant springs for my 4/4 shortly. Thanks.

And me! After my passenger ride in the ARP4 I am a 5-link convert, and fitting the Suplex system to my car is definitely on the cards once my piggy bank is sufficiently full.

Ditto. Suplex on the front, anyway, will think about the 5L as well.

Ciao Jochen,

You beat me to it smile

Mine arrived this morning. I posted a couple of photos that Borghi sent me. I'm not sure when we will do the installation, probably next week. I'm having it done by Borghi because they have all the tools and equipment necessary that I don't have. Not that all that much is required but I don't have axle stands for example.
