Yes, Gun Blue.....I use to use it when restoring shotguns. I'm not sure it would work on stainless steel though. If it does, it would look good!

So... My car should be here in a few days. I want to order exhaust wrap to go from the jugs back to the cats. What width should I order and what length for each side?

Not sure if it's a good idea.
I can remember that i saw a post of Swissghost that he got an broken pipes near the cylinder head. Could be caused by the wrapping ??

Mine did the same thing. The bobbins holding the pipes to the side of the car failed and the pipe flexed way too much and it tore it at the head while running. The pipes were very hot. The wrap stopped an inch short of the tear so heat buildup under the wrap was not the cause. The cause was the thickness of the pipe wall. The stock 2012 pipes are only 1.0mm thick. After that year they (Morgan) switched to 1.5mm.

I have a new set of the black front pipes waiting at the dealer. I will wrap these as well as when I come to a stop and am just sitting there the wrap protects the turn signal bullets from the heat of the pipe just inches below it. There have been pictures posted elsewhere showing the melting of same...

So... What width and length? Please?

If I remember correctly, then it would be about 25 feet of 2" wrap per side to wrap the entire header but leaving the flexi uncovered. This will give good overlap and enough extra to ease the wrapping process a bit.
I did wrap mine, using similar looking wrap but from two different suppliers. One lot went brittle and faded to white almost immediately before falling apart so it was replaced with the rest of the wrap that matched the other side. After a very few months both sides were very tatty, fading and going brittle so I gave up and removed it. I now have aluminium tape strategically placed on the RHS indicator body to reflect the heat from the header.
There seems to be a vast quality range when you look at exhaust wraps with no real way of knowing what you are actually being sold.

The wrapping degrades the stainless steel.
The best option is to have the pipes ceramic coated inside and out. It only cost $385 to have both exhaust done and drops the temp by 70 degrees. pictures of my 3 wheeler with the coating.

I would be interested to see any evidence of this.

It may seem obvious, but make sure that you start at the rear of the pipe and work toward the heads. This will keep a shingling/waterfall effect on the wrap so water will run off rather than bleed under a leading edge seam. I'm sure that when at operating temperature, the pipes are hot enough to boil off any water, but any rain can also cool the outside and possibly still let the water in.
