Thinking of going to Classic Le Mans, never been before. I have been looking at some of the packages and I think the MSCC agents are charging quite a lot of money. Also been looking at LeMob, www.lemob.co.uk, they look quite good. Anybody on here used them before, also any advice for a Le Mans newbie. Cheers, Peter PS, I know I'm a bit late.

www.vinmog.fr try this, don't know if Quinten has any spaces left but much cheaper if he does.

Peter,
Have a word with Quentin if Vinmog is full he can steer you hopefully in the right direction and save you £££££. You can contact him on 01903 831387

I have used leMob for the last two Classic Le Mans. The organisation was outstanding and I would have no hesitation in using them again. Tony Flint has been organising this and the 24 hour Le Mans trips for many years and is often the choice of competition teams (and Octane Magazine). Don.

It surprises me that so many use organised trips to go to Classic Le Mans. Maybe I'm missing something here but is it so complicated to book a gite, buy tickets online and drive yourself there? We did it four years ago, from Vienna, and it was a breeze. The trip from the accommodation to the track each day was about half an hour. Perhaps staying at the circuit requires a tour company. Maybe someone can enlighten me as I'm having a big think about going again this year.

You can always get tickets and camping passes for either the classic or the "main" 24 hours race on the various websites , clubarnages.com or pistonheads etc eBay and the like, as people always buy and someone nearly always drops out. I didn't plan to go to the vingt quatres heures in 2009 then a week before the race changed my mind and got a ferry via Brittany ferries, tickets from e bay and camping pass from club arnages. Easy.

Le Mob has a strong social element with evening events and a chance to meet like minded enthusiasts. The in-circuit parking which is available to organised tours is also an attraction. Depending on the grade, Le Mob also includes low level helicopter flights around the circuit during the races. I agree that it is not difficult to organise your own trip but sometimes it is just nice to kick back and let an experienced organisation take care of the details so that all you have to focus on is enjoying the occasion. To each his own. Don.

I should mention that I'm going to the classic this year after an 8 year gap, with vinmog. Quentins arrangements are always very good.

Oh and the circuit drives when we get to take VIPs is immense fun too. Not sure if Quentin is doing that this year though.
