My car will be in the garage next Saturday...finally. The 280mm sender has been sitting on the workbench awaiting her arrival.

Let us know what you find when you remove the existing one Ken. It might already be a 280mm one read

Don't know if this helps anyone or not, but Classic Instruments in Michigan have a fuel sender that comes in all different ohms ratings, but this one just happens to be a 0-30 ohm sender.

Classic Instruments

You should be able to find a length that fits your application. 280mm is 11.024" and 12" is approximately 305mm.

Just did the swap over. You can see that the factory one is considerably shorter than the 280mm one. I switched them over and the gauge immediately read 100% though and has not changed. Think it's a grounding issue?

Thanks again Ken. Amazing that MMC are still fitting an unsuitable length one despite the consistent publicised inaccuracies.

Seen the other thread and sure that removing the transit pin should have the sensor working fine.

Yep...left the pin in (didn't bother reading the instructions) that prevents the float from moving around during shipping. Oops!

She's reading now, though she says 95% after 40 miles. We know that's optimistic. I'm hoping she'll improve.

70% with 66 miles. Seems accurate. Yeah... The 280mm sender is the way to go.
