Hello guys :-)

just as probably most of you, I came to a point where I would like to change the cushion drive on my 2013 3wheeler for the new Centa Drive part. The part was offered to me by my dealer in Austria for approximately 1050 GBP excl. Tax and installation. That seems to me quite too much...

Where and for how much did you buy the drive? What could you recommend me?

Thanks for your help and best regards,
Andrej

I cannot remember the exact price but around £1000 is about right, I decided to upgrade 18 months ago, but when the dealer stripped the car down they discovered the the original compensator was badly worn and would be replaced under warranty, I just had to pay the difference to have the Centa.

Mine was £1,135.66 (inc VAT) for parts only in July 2015. The labour was covered by MMC under warranty.

Might help if the Centa's own part number was known allowing direct sourcing, although it may be they are contractually obliged to supply only MMC.

To my knowledge, they are Richard.

When my compensator failed at 3000 miles on our 2013 I was quoted over $3000 USD to change to a CENTA unit. We negotiated down, but I was told there was considerably more labor involved in "upgrading" to the CENTA unit than just replacing the worn compensator.

JVS has a very detailed photo manual on the site and it looks like normal things you would want to change out anyway. I didn't see a lot of parts that were harder to install than just the original items with new bearings etc.

Richard,

As far as the Centa part number goes, Centa designed their coupling/compensator directly for MMC. It is not listed as an item they resell directly. This would be the same as if you went to Quaife and tried to buy a BB. They would refer you to MMC for the purchase.

Thank you for your experiences, seems like the price is really just as high.

I don't think the Morgan warranty will help me. I am not sure if I should be happy or not, but after almost 10000 miles, my 3w sounds and drives pretty good. I just realized, after pulling out the transmission oil, that there was pretty much of metal dust in it. I hope the new Drive will lower the maximum Tourque strains. What did you experience?

Dan, thanks for recommending the JVS topic, perfect info in there!

Best regards,
Andrej
