Does anyone know a good place in the US to get a TR4 engine rebuilt? My father bought a 1962 Morgan Super Sports that hasn't been driven for 16 years and also the engine is not the original engine so we want to upgrade to Lawrence tune specs.

The US is a big country. SS specs are not that special anymore, but I am not sure who can do them. Larry Eckler (Morgan Spares) I am sure could handle this. Pierre Brun (BabyDoll Mechanic) can do this - Salem, Oregon. But if you are dead set on SS Spec's, I am not sure there are many alive. Bob Bowie, Massachusetts might know of somebody. Let Me know if You need anymore help and I will do some more research.

Look up Macy's garage (Dayton OH). I had them rebuild my Tr3 engine and they did a wonderful job with a quick turnaround. They are probably the most reputable TR shop out there. I also only have good things to say about Morgan Spares. The best source for the Lawrence tune parts in particular is probably Morgan Spares/Larry Eckler.

I've quickly learned that it may be better to go with regular TR4 specs rather than push my luck and money to the limit. I have dealt with Morgan Spares in the past and in touch with them at the moment about the many parts that will be needed. Thank you for the info The US is a big country. I did contact Mark at Macy's. Seems like they have a lot of experience with the engine, which I feel is important. I don't know that I would leave it with a shop that has not seen one before. I'm glad to hear from someone that has dealt with them. We are in Greensboro...so not too far, but it feels like a million miles away in a Morgan.. Look up Macy's garage (Dayton OH).
