Hello,
thanks for your comments. Since it is not really clear whether they are installing the kit already or only have it on the price-list, I will contact my dealer next weekend on his booth at the retro-classics show and report back.
Regarding the timing-chain, what is the “improvement” there? Tensioner?

Regards,
beltempo

thumbs they are offering "modified tensioners" via AR (which i orderd for my car to be fitted in production) besides several other further "upgrades" (as i.e. one-mass/lightened flywheel, dry sump, big brakes,...)

It doesn´t matter how fast it becomes, but how it becomes fast. laugh2

I emailed AR 3 times when I had my 3.7 asking if the tensioners could be modified as the engine sounded like a bag of spanners. I didn't receive a single reply. Really not impressed.

Noble, who use these engines in racing, strip out the VVT tech altogether and also modify tensioners.

Info received today at Williams re the ECU, thought I would share.....

MMC have recently removed the ECU upgrade from the option list for the Roadster due to problems sourcing electrical connectors. Working towards a solution but no time frame.
As a result have put my Roadster order on hold.

Thanks to Adrian for the education.....

Mike,

my ECU upgrade is on order since May, 2016 that is...
Electrical connectors, now that is a serious challenge.

I should consider cancelling my order.

Thanks for the information,

Beltempo

So, if these are not going to be made available, and, apparently have not been available for some time, can anyone explain why MR11MOG, who took delivery of his beautiful ARV6 Roadster in September, reported that he had the ECU upgrade fitted by the factory prior to delivery?
The mystery and fog surrounding this issue seems to continue!

I was informed that my car would be fitted with the ECU up grade as I didn't want it with out due to the rev hang.
Now how I can be sure that it has been done I dont Know.
What I can say is that it has no rev hang and drives perfectly.
It is a tremendous car, very fast and oodles of torque.
How they fitted it if there are no connectors I have no idea.

Basically you need to accelerate hard in 3rd gear from around 200rpm and hit about 4500-5000rpm and then go to select 4th quickly, you should notice that the revs will not drop back and may even increase slightly, and the car will continue to accelerate in 4th for a few seconds. Be warned extreme speeds can be reached quickly.

Another trait is the on a dual carriageway who cruising at around 70mph in 5th or 6th try lifting off the accelerator you should find that reeves do not drop for several seconds.

The original ECU is largish a triangular shaped black and sliver box that is in the fuse box under the bonnet, I thing the MBE is smaller and a different shape.

Just checked my car. Registered June 13

The ECU control box (within the fuse box) is rectangular - and all silver.

I was told that Williams had replaced it from the original.

My car does not have rev hang.

Hope this helps!

If you have no rev hang why are you bothered which ecu the car has?
