Have'nt needed to wax the bodywork yet as kept indoors under a cover. Reading the owners handbook it says avoid silicone based and polymer sealers, and use traditional wax polish, as most modern polishes seem to be based on one or either of these products there does'nt appear to be much choice, i wondered whether most owners are just ignoring this advice, if not what polish are they recommending?

Having used Autoglym for many years, for the last year I've used the Meguiars range and find it excellent.

I use the Meguiars clay and polish, but then use the 3M show car paste wax.
Works for me.
Cheers,

I took advice from the excellent sticky post "How to wash your car", in the Maintenance and servicing forum. It suggests Raceglaze Signature series pre -wax cut and cleanse and depending on the colour of your car Poorboys Nattys Blue paste wax.

If your car is under wraps and only taken out on nice days, there's no need to clay it or use any kind of abrasive..I think that's what MMC is referring to...actually, there's no need to put anything on it.
But if you do, I like Meguiar's Ultimate, just remember to apply and remove in back and forth motions to avoid swirls, and touch up after washings with their Quik spray wax.

I currently use Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Dodo Juice Purple Haze wax, I have also used Swisswax and Meguiar's and to be honest I find very little to choose between them, I think they are all pretty good.

Autofinesse medium and fine polishes for machine polishing. Not needed regularly. Meguiars/ Autoglym Resin for hand polishing Clay once a year. Meguiars wax usually but using up Autoglym as still some left ( nice on red cars! Twice/thrice a year.) Autofinesse Triple for intermediate topping up instead of wax. I agree that there are many brands making good stuff but I see no need to change. Tony......I do 7k+ miles a year in all weathers and garage the car, but if you do very little then no need for more than once a year polish/wax. Especially the polish.

There are indeed many potions but for me the Dodo range can't be beaten. They sell wax ( lots of 'em) which is just that - wax without any cutting action, just protection. Ideal for a car without swirl marks/kept indoors under cover. Its not found in halfords or supermarkets but if you try it I'm pretty sure you'll love it. A sample pot can be bought on ebay for around £6

I also use Autoglym resin polish, then to finish it of a coating of Dodo juice, the paintwork then looks nice and shiny and beads up wonderfully when wet!! Ian
