My concerns of this solutions are:
1. reduced ground clearance
2. weakness of the brackets that keeps the guard in place (imagine with the weight of the car and suspension stiffness). With the guard you are increasing the "low ground" surface and for sure a movement in that area would bend the bracket and put additional pressure on the nipple because of the plate moving upward.

All this, at least, in my mind. Probably untrue in reality laugh

I noticed that Cain had a hand in some of the modifications.

Is a complete ,(own design ,of course smile ) ,sump guard, something that Wolf might be interested in producing...?

This is challenging to explain smile I hope that with pics it will be clearer.
So... bad news first. We did not take pictures of the oil sump with the welding and the "bending" of the oil sump "floor" (my english becomes even worse when talking about these things.
Good news. All the rest.

First picture
Bending of the oil sump floor succeeded.
Welding of the thread succeeded.

But wait, there is more (I miss staring US TV shopping while hearing my brain cells killing themselves)

Second picture
We did not want to force the bending and, because of this, the nipple was still cropping up.
So the nipple itself has been fully redesigned.
Now it's shorter and with a round head (all hand made, welcome to Morgan world)
The result is that now (unfortunately not clear from the pics) the oil sump floor is perfectly flat, with the nipple hidden.
Last but not least, since the original pump was leaving some oil not drained because of the shape, the bending (A) has been done with a small angle (B), so that all the oil can be drained next time we change it.

Next item to be addressed is to find a solution for the oil filter housing, we have a couple of ideas, but I will show you later, here.

Thanks for posting. I guess it's not a cheap solution though! innocent

Well... difficult to say what is cheap in the Morgan world.
I still do not have the invoice, but I can bet it will be less than 350GBP.
Until now, each penny spent at Borghi's, was worth it.
I'd have expected to have a proper factory solution, though.

£350 would be less than one replacement in my experience.
Price is one thing, value can be defined many ways !

The main advantage/saving is that you are not buying a new sump, but fix the "broken" one.

You could ask if they are willing to do send you one and, once fitted, you send back yours.
They should still have my other two oil sumps around doh
