Finally picked the car up on Friday after a long time trying to solve overheating and carby problems. The mechanics first comment to me was "Wow what a rocket" at last it is fixed. I like some other Mog owners in Perth have finally found a mechanic and a carby specialist in Perth who know what they are doing. Thanks to Paul at Triumph Tune and Ric at R Geneve's Dyno Centre.
Went for a long drive in the Perths hills to put a smile back that had been missing for a while. Looking forward to some club outings again starting with the flying fifty in Northam at start of April.

Yes, it is in Sundercombe street. www.thetriumphcentre.com.au . John Stacey has had him repair all the work that was done to his +8 when he first got it. There was two other 4/4s in the drive when I rocked up. He is very busy, but I believe he has asked Chris van wyck if he can be the approved Morgan Service centre in Perth. He puts a fair bit of carby work and tune ups to Ric Geneve in Guthrie Street and he concentrates more on the mechanical repairs. Not sure whats happening for Easter yet, but will let you know a bit later in the week.

He's a guy I went to when I was looking for brake shoe retaining clips. Very helpful.

A 20 mile round trip to have the pre-summer service done - over the Danube and into a not-so-lovely industrial zone. Peter used to look after my Spitfire, in fact still looks after it for the new owner. He operates from a tiny workshop in a builders yard just beyond the city limits. He has worked on British sports cars all of his life and is what we call a "geheim tip" - a secret worth sharing. There was an early razor edge Triumph saloon outside but Healeys and MGs are more common customers. He's now a member of the silver-haired mechanics club and I fear he might hang up the spanners before too long. In the meantime I will give him my custom and send mates there as well. As well as the service he gave the car a good once-over and, a man of few words, gave it the thumbs-up.
And is it just me or does the Morgan always steer more lightly, rev more freely and just drive more sweetly on the way home from a service?

I always used to think that my car, whatever model it was, drove more sweetly just after I had spent the day meticulously cleaning it! I think it was all in the mind, which,of course, it was. One would naturally expect a car to perform much better after a service and whether it is the mind playing tricks or actually the service having "sorted" any issues, who really knows?

Picked it up from Mole Valley cars on Saturday following annual pre summer service and MOT not had the chance to drive it since so took advantage of today's glorious weather for a quick 40 minutes blast before 'going back to work'. Blow me down saw another Mog, orange one on the A29 near Five Oaks in Sussex we exchanged what was the first wave of the season.
