165 mile round trip to Malvern and back for the Classic Focus Group. Great day. Even the M42 is tolerable in the Morgan.

After three days up to my elbows in grease replacing the king pins on my 4/4, I needed a run. Took the Plus 8 out to lunch and the liquor store. Bought gluten free beer for the wife. Back home . . . now to find a non gluten free beer for me . . .
Cheers,
Mark

Well not today but yesterday. My daughter is visiting from South Africa and yesterday was a brilliant spring day. We started out at 10 and went first to Morbegno and visited the Ciapponi shop which is an Aladdin's cave of food, cheese, salami, and wine with its 3 levels of cellars below street level. We then went to Bormio where I momentarily considered going over the Stelvio Pass but as the temperature was falling with altitude I dismissed the idea. We stayed with plan A and headed over the Foscagno Pass, 2291 metres, into the duty free area of Livigno. We stopped briefly at the top of the pass, with snow all around, to take a couple of photos. I can tell you I was very pleased to get my gloves back on. We then headed down to Livigno for lunch at a bar near the end of a ski run. It was weird to be sitting in the warm sun with people arriving a few metres away on skis or departing on the ski lift. After making a few purchases of tobacco and alcohol I filled the near empty tank with petrol, 87 cents a litre thank you, and we headed through the Munt La Schera tunnel into Switzerland. We then returned home via San Moritz where the lakes are all frozen over with people doing cross country skiing. By this stage, with the sun dropping behind the mountains, we were really starting to feel the cold biting at our ears and we were very pleased to drop down the unending hairpins of Maloja Pass to warmer climes. A round trip of about 360 kilometres and all in all a fabulous day.

That sounds fabulous Peter....you live in a lovely part of the world. Me.......I just went into the garage to check over Nero....half sat in it but can't get my boot in! I'm going to have to be patient.

I always used to think that my car, whatever model it was, drove more sweetly just after I had spent the day meticulously cleaning it! So I'm not the only one then? I've often felt the same way too.

Just apply a little wax below each nostril and you can get the same feeling sitting down in the lounge watching tele. In fact, do all of this whilst sitting on a chair in the garden being hosed down for the original M3W feeling. After ten minutes, kick one leg of the chair away & you can have a breakdown too..
