Hi Guys,
Need some advice my super sport failed the MOT today on emissions.
The tester said the levels are all over the place. I am really gutted having had old classics in the past to then change to a modern classic to have the same bloody problem! I have now read on here that I am not alone with this problem. Does anybody know what the solution is?
I am guessing that Morgan are not interested.
It is a shame because I really like driving this car but this is very annoying.

Hi Mart. Welcome to TM and Morgan ownership. I'm sorry to read of your problems and some others have experienced the same problem. I had No.18 for a few months and it is a great car but old it before MOT was due. What number is yours?

MR11MOG, I think, had the same problem and ended up replacing the ECU from memory but I'm sure he can fill you in more on this. There is a thread on here to about it too.

I have a feeling there may be an ECU upgrade, have you checked with your dealer?

This is a known problem that occurs on a number of Plus 4SS cars

There is a solution, do not despair. You have a lovely car and this problem can be resolved. Where are you based?

Omex and Williams have developed new firmware and a new calibration for the ECU. The fix involves either taking the car or sending the ECU to Omex for updating plus the fitting of exhaust manifold wrap to make sure little heat is lost before the exhaust gas arrives at the catalytic converter.

PS, Welcome to Talk Morgan

Thanks for your quick replies.
Obviously gutted to have a 2012 car with this kind of problem.
I am based in Dorset, main dealers thin on the ground down here. I am happy to travel to get the right result.
Any idea how much the Williams work on the ECU costs?
Thank Mart

Yes we at Williams can do the new remap for you. You do not need to have the exhaust manifold wrapped.

None at all but they are great guys and will know straight away what is required. You can probably get them to get the MOT done for you when the fix has been done. Give them a call on Tuesday.

That was quick Lawrie. You beat me to it. The wrap is not needed?
