the Plus 4 drive ratio in fifth gear is 0.76 and the axle ratio is 3.73. That yields 25.1 mph per 1000 prm (if you believe in their numbers).
Andy Yup, sounds about right - 50mph is just on 2000 rpm on my tach. 3000 gives 75mph (not that I've ever seen that of course  officer!). Cruising at a relaxed (and it is relaxed!) 60 - 65 mph is good on fuel and there's plenty of torque for reasonably quick overtake manoeuvres without a cog change... (Think I made a typo earlier when I said 11 gallons - need to read the handbook again!). Tinkerbelle's fuel gauge never reaches full, even when tank is brimmed. Looks like there's still a good reserve when gauge is showing nearly empty... Cheers,

Folks,
We in Ireland have embraced metrication such that we have all distances in Kilometers and speedlimits in Kph ......BUT....we still have some old signs on backroads which are in Miles!!!! and those of my generation(55+)generally still think in old figures. My kids laugh hugely when I tell them about feet, inches, roods, chains etc!!!
We tend to still mention MPG but all adverts for cars now mention litres / 100Km but with MPG in Brackets.
I hope you are all suitably confused!!

Robbie might be lucky Graham because Newtown Motors is still opposite the bus depot. If he gets lost in the suburbs however- - - - -!!

I have a garmin which my wife calls "Evil Edna" after the kid's cartoon figure which always issued instructions. This device has extricated me from Cwmbran before so I have every faith!!!!!!!

Ah! but does it do the instructions in Welsh? I'm sure the Welsh Assembly changed the law last week outlawing English- speaking Satnavs and GPS!!
