the Plus 4 drive ratio in fifth gear is 0.76 and the axle ratio is 3.73. That yields 25.1 mph per 1000 prm (if you believe in their numbers).

Yup, sounds about right - 50mph is just on 2000 rpm on my tach. 3000 gives 75mph (not that I've ever seen that of course

officer!).
Cruising at a relaxed (and it is relaxed!) 60 - 65 mph is good on fuel and there's plenty of torque for reasonably quick overtake manoeuvres without a cog change...
(Think I made a typo earlier when I said 11 gallons - need to read the handbook again!). Tinkerbelle's fuel gauge never reaches full, even when tank is brimmed. Looks like there's still a good reserve when gauge is showing nearly empty...
