Vautour, I'd hate to see you not get the car. Have you checked all the entry's in this blog to see what the rest of us have done? I'm 6:4 inches and 205lbs and have done all the mods for size and am perfectly OK for 100 miles or more. I think we should all get out and stretch at least that often. Remember "Where there is a will there is a way" Good luck
To be exact I am 6'6 ft tall, my inside leg is 37 inch and I weigh 242 pounds.
Used to own a TVR Chimaera and it was quite comfortable. But I've set my mind on a Morgan 3-wheeler. But perhaps impossible because of measurements?
I am 6ft 4 but as my previous post it is the leg/body proportions that are important not just height. Shorter legs and long body will work with the M3W but with 37inch legs it will be a real struggle.
Yes, it is a real struggle. That's why I wrote the e-mail to the factory.
Most probably I am not the only one who wants a M3W, but needs more room to fit and drive comfortably.
MorganMatt on this forum paved the way. He designed and fabricated a custom mechanism that allowed him to change the orientation of the master cylinder and move the entire cluster forward ~3 inches past the previous forward-most mounting point.
Wouldn't it be technical feasible for the factory or a dealer to make such an option/upgrade. Ofcourse taking into account legislations/homologations.
There could be sufficient demand for such an option. Don't you guys think so?
My legs are about 35 inches and I fit just fine, with the pedals adjusted to the notch before max, too. It's not the length of your legs that's getting in the way..it's the 242 lbs. The amount of space that requires in the seat pushes your legs so far forward there isn't enough space.
The solution here might be to lose the weight, which I do not at all intend as snarky, just a more feasible solution to either some major adjustment to the car..or chopping a foot off your legs.
Several drivers have put a piece of 4 x 2 wood under the front of the seat, this has the effect of shortening your legs. It also makes driving more comfortable. This is a bit more involved but gives you an idea.
On the 23 of March i drove the Red Jap at Krazyhorse. The pedals where not adjusted for me and i found them too close to me for comfort. On my own car this will be fully sorted, i will get them to lift the front of the seat from the get go.
I have done an exact copy of the blue picture early last year and I am quite pleased with the result. Besides the better leg adjustment some additional space is available under the seat! Can highly recommend this solution.
