Thanks all, I will call Rtcc in the morning. Also I have just given the interior a hoover, and the boot smells rather strongly of petrol.. Normal?

I think you have the others points covered, but the squeak from the osr could be the wheel nut. I have both my os nuts come undone not long after the service as the grub screws were loose, and had an initial squeak which became a graunch. By undone I mean 1/4 or 1/2 turn max.
Petrol small will be the breather or filler slightly loose and venting into the boot space.
These cars do like to be driven regularly.

A Small ceeaking noise from stand still to right or left hand lock will be all the rose joints having a moan, the right hand front wheel is also very close to the big air pipe this may also touch in certain conditions (parked on uneaven ground).Just like Viper i also have had two Maf sensors go very annoying but an easy fix.Sounds like she may have been parked up for a while, once you get these little niggles sorted its just a case of keeping on top of things. Its an event every time i take mine out.

I do hope so, its more frustrating that I now have to try and resolve the issues when they should have been picked up. They assured me it was mechanically perfect, no advisories on the service or mot.. Will see what they say but I can't say I am impressed, I have been looking forward to driving her for 7 weeks, I was hoping to do more than 20miles!

Good luck resolving your issues, one would hope the dealers see sense and take the easiest fix route, when I bought my previous mog from mole valley the rear exhaust box needing changing so it was agreed as uncle melvyn had the part that he'd send it to me and they'd pick up the tab. A very capable young man who juggles spanners in Leicester then fitted it. Everyone happy. Touching wood, so far other than no grease in the King pins, all seems well with my plus 8 recently acquired from awsc. Oh other than a malfunctioning temp gauge, but they all do that sir....

When i bought my first series 1 it was from the factory a keen deal was negotiated and i bought sold as seen no warranty but did include a good going over and service. Before i reached home the air con had packed in and the drivers side window had dissapeared not wanting to come back up till i dismantled the door cards. These things happen and the only way to find out is to drive it i dont suppose the dealer would have done much of that.

I guess I kind of expected to have a few issues maybe a few months down the line, but on the first drive (within 10mins) left me a bit downhearted to be honest. On the plus side the first ten minutes were most enjoyable

I can totally understand your frustration having waited so long to take collection of the car. The problems are probably, as everyone suggests, just down to lack of use and hopefully the dealer will get things sorted quickly for you.
Once resolved I'm sure it will be miles of smiles.
