Just back from the factory to see my car being built. Wonderful time and really fascinating. My Plus 4 4 seater is in its first week so my wife and I could sign the frame and spoke to the chap working on it at the time. I now understand why It's such a special part of the experience of buying and owning a Morgan.
Highlights for me:
-Seeing MY CAR -Speaking to the employees -Fascinating to see those two jigs that form the wheel arches and the process involved -Hearing about Harvey Jones only meaningful contribution to improving production: organise stuff so that the assembly "flows" downhill -That the switch to pre-formed wood and aluminium made the biggest difference in production (not a Harvey Jones inspired improvement) -Understanding the importance of sustainable fish supplies -The egregious lack of cup holders in all Morgans -The glueing together of aluminium in the Aeros: possibly a Morgan innovation (or Lotus or Aston Martin) depending on where you are and the fact that if you tried to pull the bonded bits apart the aluminium would give way first -The whole beautiful, other worldly, old school but quality charm of the place
Problem is I still have a few weeks to wait and its made the expectation unbearable

Enjoy the anticipation - it is like awaiting the birth of a child. Later come the sleepless nights - what`s that rattle, will salt hurt the chassis, do the kingpins need greasing, have I put in enough grease etc. Welcome yo the joys of ownership. I remember watching mine being built - take LOTS of photos. Enjoy each stage as it comes.

Great factory experience Robert especially as you have taken onboard the vital part for Stewart - Understanding the importance of sustainable fish supplies

I visited the factory during my car build and I was invited to sign the ash frame. I was so excited, I got the date wrong putting 2004 instead of 2014. That's going to confuse the hell out of somebody in the distant future!
