Oh yesssss

Got to and back from the garage and it seems that the grub screw was not going far enough into axle as it should. Now, this had a new wheel on it about 2 years ago after the original one had a serious crack in it and with a new stuaxle fitted last year after this wheel came off, the new stub axle came with a slot in it from the factory (I am told!) so it was never really set up correctly and as such the grub screw was nowhere near to the slot even though it did seem to be when I had the new tyres on it. I am going to use a magic marker on the nut/wheel for some comfort!
Incidentally, the yellow warning light was coming on quite regulary and it seems that a faulty cam sensor was the cause(long wait for a replacement!) I never knew there was such a thing (well two in reality)
Now to get some confidence back into driving it without that tune "Three wheels on my wagon" coming into my head!!!

Glad you have identified the root cause at least, let's hope you can drive and enjoy without anymore issues

Well an update on mine.. its still not fixed.

So far its had a new MAF, wiring repair for the broken Air Con and a Regass, a new Thermostat as that then broke..

Was supposed to get it back today but during the final test drive the indicators broke, so thats now two months to the day I bought it, and I've driven it once.

Must say I am starting to lose faith in RTCC and the car.

Oh well, guess I shall be gardening this weekend..

It's soooo very frustrating when your new toy is unavailable to play with.

I bought a Datsun 240Z got it running after a month or so but then it decided to stop. 14 months and lots of it's driving like a dream and fun to drive.



Now whats this about wipers? I've heard you never go out in the rain?

You should try building a Westfield only to get it written off on it's first track day and have to wait 2 years to get it all back together again. That Sucked.

Back on topic, when you get it back, regular driving helps them stay reliable. Also, have some faith in the dealer as the issues are due to lack of use not the dealer not knowing about them. People want a low milage car but forget that rubber/seals/electrical connections all break down with no use.

I purchased a used Ferrari, OK only a Mondial T but it was my first Ferrari and i loved it…..but it had sat for nearly a year with the dealer and probably 12 months with the previous owner before. The Air con packed up more than once, the sunroof leaked, rubber seals failed, handbrake cable fell off, even the front bulk head split as the wiper motor had fatigued the metal, causing the wipers to fail in north wales in the rain. But the dealer sorted them all out and even today i keep in contact with them as it was not their fault.

I also built a Westfield about 10 years ago, great little car Duratec powered, never raced though. Sorry about thread drift.
