Another story on the friendlyness of the French Police.
I was stopped in the E Coupe and asked to show I had all the things needed to be carried. I had everything including had a Mercedes bulb kit but the "Officer" said "where is the headlight bulb". I told him that Mercedes don't sell bulbs as if the HID unit goes it can only be fitted by a garage. I got a tirade about German cars, Germans and a lot of other stuff, but was allowed to go....
I love France but some of the officials can be less than charming.... I would have been tempted to remind him that if it wasn't for us all French citizens would have been driving German cars for years..... I hate that sort of thing, never had a problem in a car but seen lots of issues when on a bike in France, never from small towns and villages where everyone was wonderful but in major cities, Paris in particular, they are a total nightmare.

Different issue BUT!
When I was researching shipping My Morgan from Tacoma, Wa. I wanted it to go to France. Forget it said the Shipper. You are going to Southampton and take the ferry to France. The French are too difficult to deal with. This I did. BTW: The French were a delight. Not sure about Government Officials. But had no problems at all on this trip with the People.
