Being lousy weather today and Gawsworth Hall cancelled, decided to service Morgan.
2 questions! I know rear brakes are self adjusting but I couldn't remove one of the back plates because of tightness of brake shoes on the drum. Is there a way of "backing off" the rear brake shoes. There doesn't seem to be the traditional square adjuster on rear of the drum.
Also some of that silver "bacon foil" coated with under seal had detached itself from under one of the rear wheel arches. Can anyone suggest an alternative to prevent "stone crazing" on the paint work.

I don't know the year of your car but from 1993 onwards they changed braking systems from girling to Lockheed. I rebuilt mine last year and on the back plate there was a rubber bung on each one in the right spot to release the auto adjuster.

This link draws the picture for you.

If you want part numbers and a good price on OE brake bits pm me, based on my rebuild last year no vested interest.

Dinitrol seems to be favourite but I'm not an expert.

Dave W has a fix for the wing starring on his how to section.
A friend of mine stuck some sort of bitumen flashing stuff under his arches and that did the trick, mine has got so much black underseal on it and doesn't have that problem.

Andy , I made mine from aluminium sheet. Easy to do. I think Dave W uses the stuff that house sale signs are made from. Check his How To section.
