Welcome to the fold. I can think of very few more memorable events than the "Barn Find". Its happened to me twice - but both were long ago when such hidden jems were not quite so rare. The memory is still fresh nonetheless. No 1. Spotted a small western morning news advert. No 2. A word of mouth tip off.

Thanks for all the above, I did collect the car today and it's home in the Garage.
(I'm in Epping)
I have started taking some pics, I assume I have to post on the web somewhere then add a link?
One quick question before I start a post on technical, is there an easy/ quick way to remove the bonnet when working on the engine, it seems very fragile with one half open?

There is a brass bracket which holds the front of the bonnet hinge, attached to the cowl. Remove it by undoing its two screws, pull the bonnets forward a little out of the rear brass bracket, and the whole lot lifts off. A bit fiddly, but worth doing if you have serious under-bonnet work to do.

I echo Adrian's comment: buy Wolf Performance bonnet stays. Do not buy the inferior version I have (but now regret).

Re removing the bonnet. Do as mentioned above. I lay a blanket down the middle along the chrome hinge, open both sides and then bungie cord the two halves together, using the bonnet knobs. Is is then a bit more manageable removing by yourself. Still best with two folks.
