Well I've decided that my next little project is to make my windscreen fold and fit Aero Screens
Reason why - because I can
Any tips, product advice or advice in general before I order the gear and carry out the work
I've got a silver Zetec 1.8 2000 4/4 4 seater
I was thinking of getting the brackets and Aero screens from Heart of England but his folding brackets are about £60 more expensive that uncle Melvyn's - does anyone know the difference?
I was going to get the Jaguar XK adjustable scuttle mounted rear view mirror from Holden's

It's a nice idea Stewart, I like the look, but on mine I'm not sure any folding screen brackets are available. I think I'd remove the padded roll before fitting the aero screen brackets though. My MG TC had a folding screen as standard, with the scuttle mount mirror, so I'm guessing an MG one would be ok too.

I have the Brookland Aero Screens. I did not like them on My +8 Bitsa. Too much wind in My face. Must admit I did not give them much of a try before removing them. Looks neat. IMO not very practical.

Hello Stewart Did you have an heated windscreen ? Yes ? I that case you must start with making the wiring of the windscr longer. I have the aero s on the 4/4 2001 and the Brookland on the +8 1990 I can send you an some pics if you want, but think it did not work in this topic ?

Stewart, I use Aeroscreens whenever i can, the only problem is unexpected rain because you have to look around them as its impossible to see through them, even with Rainex. Fortunately the folding screen does not take long to put up but apart from having the tightening tool (or a smallish Allen key) handy you will need to be able to screw on at least one wiper arm quickly. Thats all fairly obvious but the extendable mirror i think you are contemplating could be a problem because at speed it will flatten. The angle joint cannot cope with the air pressure. You need to find one with a rigid stem that is adjustable for height but not rake, mine is made up from a rigid base mirror sawn of to take the adjustable rod of the mirror i think you are looking at. I do find the central mirror causes a blind spot sometimes and you have to look around it, but you get used to it. My folding screen is from Uncle Melvyn and the Aeroscreens are Brooklands. Hope that helps, John K

Quality , also are you getting the arch topped ones or the flat top ones , you will need a well padded bag to carry them in you need strong goggles or specs stones , grit , etc can hit your eyes easy and your cap can blow off . It gets rather windy but a lot of fun it got to the point I remove the screen the mog looks odd with a screen folded and if you want to get under the bonnet its a faff so just use the aeros without the fold down . Well I've decided that my next little project is to make my windscreen fold and fit Aero Screens
