Here it is! It used to be a museum of automobilia, but sadly now closed and just a used car pitch. (Oops, just realised the photo carries a copyright - hope they don't mind? )
Well that's a coincidence - I was there today. John, the owner, is a very knowledgeable mechanic and has looked after the family's tin tops for many years. Nothing is too much trouble and sensible prices.
A couple near to me. Redford Garage ... I passed it today and it was as busy as ever (though I don't think they've sold fuel for a while). Seems to do well despite its tiny village location miles from any main town.
And this one is Trotton Gate. It used to be on the A272 (between Midhurst and Petersfield) but the road was straightened in the 70's leaving the garage on a sideroad leading nowhere. Still seems to do well though. Until recently it was still using old 1960's petrol pumps.
It's a shame that Mike Duncan's place hasn't got pumps outside...it's very picturesque. Even a bigger shame when he sells up and it becomes a housing estate!
