Brian,
I haven't driven the 3.7 Roadster but my 3 l has the Rutherford shocks & is head & shoulders above my old 97 +4 in terms of ride.

My arp4 that broke down is now at the factory - it was a throttle body and Cosworth came and replaced the lot. I requested a prolonged test drive and that came back agreeing with me that the handling was poor so that's being sorted and I expect it back next week. My neighbour who bought the first arp4 has sent it back and swapped it for a Roadster. 'it is a track day car on the road that constantly needs fast driving making it impossible to drive at a normal pace'
well that suits me just fine smile

I have heard that the 'throttle hang' that afflicts cold starting is caused by the throttle bodies, and that Cosworth are sending a man to change the throttle bodies on all Cosworth engines. I'm still waiting for the call though.

"it is a track day car on the road that constantly needs fast driving making it impossible to drive at a normal pace"

With due respect, that is not quite true. I have criticised the lack of mid range torque, but it can be driven quite gently, in fact with my wife on board, that is exactly how I do drive it, as I know she does not appreciate high revs. and lots of noise. There is not much acceleration available until 4000 - 5000 revs frankly, but it will potter.

I love my power steering and the car potters very nicely. Can't wait till its run in so I can revit a little.
The heater is very good and very little water ingress today as the poor thing has been out in the rain all day .

Reminds me of when I bought my first new MG Midget in 1966. You had to run it in for 1000 miles. Bought it on Saturday 1st January, booked it in for first (1000 mile) service for Wednesday 5th and spent 2 days driving from London to Birmingham up and down the new M1. Took in for the service and they couldn't believe I'd done 1000 miles in 5 days, I said it's been sat in the garage for 2 days I'd done the 1000 by Monday.

What was a very disappointing experience is now ace. Car been back to the factory. All issues sorted and took it out for its first drive again ... Its a drivers car that needs hard gearbox work its noisy and it motors!! Not took it above 4500 revs but when Im free to do so it will not be very legal . Driving it is a bit like being on a motorbike - every now and again a tight corner will scare you. Bit reluctant to go in 6th gear but apart from that very happy.....

I'll second that. What a relief for you and I'm sure for all AR owners who I'm sure have been wondering what had happened to yours.

(should be collecting mine at the end of the month)

What on earth did you have done by the factory to effect such a change?
