I've noticed that my tacho occasionally sticks (even with the ignition off) at about the 1500 rpm mark. Is this one of those "they all do that sir" or should I get it looked at? Thanks

If I tap the glass on my tacho, the needle will drop below the 0 point.
My Roadster speedo has a nervous twitch at tick over.

Went for a quick blast yesterday to get a keyboard and mouse and when I started the Mog, the speedo went round the clock and back. It gave correct readings when driving afterwards, though.

Excuse me for using this thread for my question! Is there any photo from the back of a SMITH Tachometer (2005/2006 4/4) I want to know how the connector with the harness is fixed (secured) to the tachometer.

It's a Smiths tacho, 4/4 built 2014 if that's any help When you start the engine make sure you wait until the ECU has cycled. Wait for all the dash lights to come on and go off and if you have an immobiliser light wait for it to go out. If not the tacho will do all sorts of silly things.

It is titled Mr Bumble Improvements -Phase 3, dated 09/10/13 04.38pm, there you will see a picture of the rear of a Smiths tachometer, It is from a newer car, however it may well be the same as your tacko.
