Dear fellow Morganeers,

on the 6th of June, me and my good friend Peter are finally going to join the factory-tour at the MMC.
This will definitely be some kind of deep-soul-pilgrimage... uk

The next day - while we slowly trot back to Folkstone - we have another day 'off'.
My question: Do any of you have any suggetions as to what we should be visiting south/southeast. To be more specific: grand landscapes, lakes, pubs, pubs cheers
car, or bike-museums etc.
Did I mention pubs?

If you know any 'must sees', please post a little note!

Thanks...

Daniel

A couple of ideas for places to visit in the midlands. Both are around 1hr 10mins from Malvern and 'kind of' on your way home:

National Motorcycle Museum
www.nationalmotorcyclemuseum.co.uk/

British Motor Museum

Daniel,

There are so many fabulous places you could spend a day. Here are a few suggestions, depending on what you are interested in and what the weather is like:

The Cotswolds: Broadway, Stow on the Wold and Bourton on the Water all being very picturesque, Bourton also having a motor museum.

Warwick Castle: one of the best examples of a battle-scarred English castle.

Stratford-upon-Avon: William Shakespear and some lovely riverside settings

Henley on Thames: Attractive riverside town

Oxford is fantastic, perhaps the most interesting place to visit, but they hate motor cars, so not easy to find parking spaces unless you use the park and ride.

There are great pubs to be found in or near all of the above.

I'd head southwards from Malvern, drop into Williams for a coffee, head down towards Salisbury area, pick up the New Forest (maybe Sammy Millers or Beaulieu Motor Museum ?)

From here I'd head east towards Folkestone via the South Downs National Park in time for a fish & chip supper by the sea.

Howzat..?

If you are leaving Morgan then drift right and head for mid wales. Sure there arent any motor museums but what there are is relatively empty roads running through beautiful scenery. England is a small country with lots of people so some of the suggestions made above will land you in heavy traffic or even worse on a motorway! You dont want that.

Plot a route through Builth, Talgarth, Raglan

If you can make it, the on the 5th June there is a hill climb meeting at Shelsley Walsh which is near Malvern. Shelsley is the oldest still operational race track in the world allegedly. You can wander round the paddock talking to drivers and looking at cars. I'd be surprised if there werent any Morgans racing. Link here
